Finally watched the last three episodes of Utawarerumono on my DVD...and I am in love.
Why:
a) Eluluu. I loooove Eluluu. She's tough--even though out of the five main female characters introduced, she's the only one who's not deathly ill and can't fight--and she's cute, and she has a death glare that's awesome. I admire her stubborness and also her--I don't know how quite to say this--but her personality, I guess. She's the kind of person who shows up on the battlefield to heal wounds. I want her to do that sometime. Hakuoro would have a heart attack, but it would make me go, "YAY ELULUU!"
b) Hakuoro. He has just the right amount of angst, and his little smiles are so sweet; he's not stoic, but more just subdued. And also, he has a sexy voice.
c) Hakuoro and Eluluu. This is the CUTEST pairing ever, omg. Seriously. They are too cute. And Eluluu--poor dear--gets teased pretty often about it. The tail thing, though, would definitely make for some fun pr0n. *snerk*
d) Benawi. HAWT.
e) Tuskuru. Super-cool old lady. Best old lady ever.
f) Teoro. Like Sano, only responsible. And funny. And calls Hakuoro "kid," (an-chan, I think--I watch the subbed version, and that's what I hear) which is sweet.
g) Benawi. HAWT.
h) the villains in general. Stupid, but creepy at the same time. Hmmm...
i) Oboro, Dori, and Gura: I sense threesome fun. (Actually, I accidentally got a spoiler that I think vaguely mentioned a drunken threesome...*snerk*)
Of course, though, like most shows, it's got its downside, and this is mine:
Aruruu. Like most little anime kids (except Beniguma from Kami-kaze), most of the time I can't stand her. I like her more than Yahiko, though and more than Shippou, of course (though, really that's not hard to do), but she's still kind of annoying. As always with these characters, her lack of respect towards her main caretaker (Eluluu) bothers me, and the fact that everyone else lets her get away with it bothers me too. However, Hakuoro seemed to realize near the end of episode 5 that this was going to end in an ugly fashion; I hope he'll crack down a little harder. Eluluu certainly isn't out of line, and she's obviously very young and is having a hard time with losing Tuskuru and everything. But Aruruu is incredibly obstinate and refuses to follow Eluluu's very followable orders. Grr! The cat (whose name I forget how to spell at the moment, forgive me) kind of bothers me too, and the fact that Aruruu followed Hakuoro into battle, even if the cat saved the day.
...Actually, I like the cat. I just don't like Aruruu. Well, I like Aruruu some. More than Yahiko, but not much more.
There.
Anyway, check Utawarerumono out; it's great, despite the disgustingly hard-to-pronounce name. But now I've got it down!
In other, less happy news, Drum Major is in the hospital because her depression medication doesn't like her.
...
Yeah.
I'd say more, but I don't have much more to say than that. Just that it's awfully sad, and, naturally, I've been VERY worried.
