Sometimes taking three years of Latin really helps me.

Other times it doesn't.

Like the imperfect tense. In Latin, the imperfect tense is used to describe a verb you starting doing but never necessarily finished, or you were interrupted, like "I was talking to Susie and then I got shot" or something. "I was talking" is in imperfect. It's generally a "was/were + verb" kind of thing.

Which is something entirely different in Spanish; just a basic gerund. Which in Latin gerunds were not basic at all, but in Spanish they are. D:

No, the imperfect tense is used to describe something you used to do but don't do now, I think. I'm still trying to figure it out.

I'm also having problems with indirect pronouns. I'm beginning to follow them when I read them or have to use them for homework, but I can't even fathom putting them into actual sentences during my conversations. Good lord.

Somewhere between 1500 and 2000 words, I think. I will continue! I will persevere! I will be awesome! :)
