I love the smell of well-used leather. Like the leather of a baseball glove, or a saddle. Leather that's no longer stiff, but soft, even crackly. It's a warm, barn smell, one that makes me think of childhood and happiness. It's sweet, almost, a little musty, and it's not fragrant or sexy or delicious, but it's a scent that I just love. I could smell old, soft leather all day, and not find the smell disgusting.
I was standing in left field today during gym and I was smelling my glove, and it just smelled so wonderful. I'd forgotten that smell--I haven't rode a horse in a long time. I used to ride seriously, but now I don't.
But it's such a great smell. :)
