Luther is a good school in Decorah, Iowa, and Grinnell is an excellent school in Grinnell (wow, shocking!), Iowa. With your grades (or at least they must be good, I'm guessing), I'd recommend checking it out. It's a lot like Amherst...my biggest problem with it it's an hour away from home, and it's still in Iowa, which I really want to get out of. And I've been to Amherst already, and love it. I'm thinking it'll be there or Hampshire, or maybe University of Chicago.
But yeah, if you like Amherst, I'd consider checking out Grinnell. It's not as well-known, but it's one of the best liberal arts schools in the nation--it was at least in the top ten of Newsweek's 100 best liberal arts colleges for the past few years.
I've considered going to Europe--but I want to learn languages first (Japanese, French, and German). Maybe graduate school. Unless I get into the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop, which will very obviously change everything (given that it's arguably the greatest creative writing wrokshop in the world).
