AMAZING!!!
Jul. 19th, 2006 10:29 pmJust got back from the Goo Goo Dolls Concert (with ClassicBritLitLover).
IT WAS FABULOUS!!
Well, we'd both heard good things about how they're awesome live, and they were. There was only one nasty thing--it was (we figured) around 110 degrees in the venue, as when we got out it was 90 degrees and it felt good. Inside, it had to be at least 20 degrees hotter. If not more. My shirt was soaked through--in fact, when I took it off to shower (which, I have to say, was probably one of the best showers I've ever taken, bar none), not only was there some red residue (from my red shirt) on my white bra, my stomach, collarbones, shoulders, and back were bright red as well. *sigh* The shirt's okay though. However, I was dripping sweat, along with everyone else. We all looked we we just got out of the pool. In fact, John Rzeznik said, "I'm sweating like a hooker in a church," which was absolutely hysterical. I may have to use that line sometime.
The opening band, Carbon Leaf, was fabulous too. Their lead singer was HOT, and the lead guitarist was amazingly talented and good-looking, too. But the lead singer was there when CBLL and I went over to buy CDs (only $10! Wow!) and he was hot up close, too. Mmmmmm. And really friendly. Mmmm. I want him. *dreamy sigh*
So, an excellent concert. An absolutely amazing concert!
In other news, I picked up Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok vol. 2 up. Excellent! I am in love with the original Japanese cast--they're absolutely perfect, though the dub really isn't half bad. Even Koutarou's voice is okay, on second thought. But I am in love with the original cast, really. Yamino is too cute, and Loki as a kid is adorable, with the plus of being totally droolicious in grown-up form.
However, the thing I found, were outtakes from the dubbing, which were hilarious. (If you own the DVDs and haven't found them, go to the character Art Gallery in Extras and select it, and then hit the back chapter button.) A ten-year-old god going "Oh, no you di-in't" and Mayura saying "Fucking A!" and also suggesting that Yamino and Loki have a Michael Jackson-esque relationship was too funny.
Anyway, I'm exhausted. Later.
