nebulia: a nebula (such great heights)

right.

First of all, Harry Potter seven.

I thought it was a great finale. Truth be told, the ending was a little cheesy, what with everyone having kids and Lupin's kid dating Bill and Fleur's, but they all deserved a little happiness. I really liked it.

Second of all, the worst part of the book: Lupin and Tonks' deaths. Lupin and Tonks are my favorite characters, hands down. I love them so, soooooo much. XP I nearly cried when they died, though I were happy that they got married and stuff. I was also happy that even though it was kinda obvious Tonks' early pregnancy was rough, they managed to patch things up, for the most part. I knew Romulus on Potterwatch was Lupin right away. How obvious was that to a Latin student?

George missing an ear was hilarious, though it probably shouldn't have been.

Ron splinching himself numerous times was great too, at least, after he lost the fingernails. XD

Harry's and Lupin's argument was rough on both sides, but I was glad of the results. I was also glad Lupin understood that even though it might not have been exactly perfect, what Harry did was good for him and THEY patched things up too.

So. It was good. I am open for discussion, esp. about things I didn't mention in my minute review--I didn't touch on any of the few things I disliked or anything, even, so feel free to comment and discuss. (this means you, shananagin!)

XD

Right.

Had two very odd dreams last night. I told one to my mom this morning like an hour after I woke up, and now I can't remember it. In the other, I was sleeping on the top bunk in the basement at the lake house, with my cousin Min on the bottom, which I was, by the way, doing in real life). And Min woke me up (in the dream) and said, "A turle fell off your bed and landed in the back of my shirt!"

Yes. That's what she said. I spent a good ten minutes asking her if it was alive, and she kept saying, "Yes, it is, you twit!" And then I would ask her again, and again, and again...yeah. And then she said it was gross, like it was a spider, not a little turtle. I spent half the morning wondering if it had really happened before I realized how totally ridiculous it would have been.

Yeah. I'm an idiot.

Anyway, my cousins are in town, and we spent the weekend at the lake house. I finished HP7 and this WONDERFUL book by Cormac McCarthy called The Road, and it was great. Really. I highly recommend it.

And that was that. Have had some really interesting writing ideas, just saw Spamalot (which was fabulously funny, even a second time--"You're a fairy!" "No, that's Lancelot." *snerk*) and am now working on several other books to finish.

Later--

nebulia out.

Oh, god, same thing with me and Lupin and Tonks. From the second they got married I knew they were gonna die, one or both, and I'm dissapointed that we never learned HOW exactly they died, and I thought they'd play a bigger part (the fact two such different people loved each other in that time could be a very important thing indeed to someone like Voldemort whom couldn't understand love), and I give her credit for killing off ALL of my favorite characters except Luna... I'm ranting.

But but... Tonks and Lupin... *SNIFFS*

On the plus side, my other favorite character, other than Lupin and Tonks--McGonagall--lived. To be, no doubt, the Headmistress of Hogwarts. On the other hand, we barely saw her at all. On the other other hand, when we did see her, she kicked enourmous amounts of death eater ass.

I hoped L&T would play a larger part in Voldie's defeat as well; however, I believe, considering the way they both haunted Harry (along with Fred--oh, God, I loved Fred, too) I thought they actually did play a large part--because it was those three deaths that gave Harry the oomph he needed to win, I think. Y'know, living for his friends and all. Because after he thought about seeing them dead, and talked to his parents and Sirius and Lupin, he was like "I've GOT to go on, dammit!"

I have to agree, McGongcall was awesome. (Sp). When Pansy Parkison was like "But Potter's right there!" And she's like "Ah, thank you, you can be the first to leave."

My only fav character who really lived through it all was Luna, :). I do like Hermione though (considering I named my cat after her, who's now dead, I'm trying to convince my mom to let me get another kitten and name her either Luna or Sirius, if it's a girl or boy- yes Sirius should be a dog, but- actually, my current cat would make the perfect Sirius cat, but he's had the name Luther for ages so... ahh we'll see.) Past the cat rant. But yesh, McGongcall was awesome.

But dear god, Fred... rest in peace man, you will always make us laugh. Always.

Gotta wonder though if Harry, Ron, and Hermione will go back to Hogwarts for their 7th year- I know Hermione will want to. I'm still amazed she actually dropped out of school.

I babysat kids who have a cat named Lassie...so naming a cat Sirius is totally game.

And the whole Hermione dropping out of school thing was just this huge "stick with your friends in their time of need over everything else" deal. And proving that she really is a Griffindor, not just a Ravenclaw. After all, had she been a Ravenclaw, she would have been like, "Sorry, guys, I'm going to school." Griffindors are loyal and crap, though. And anyway, I would have killed JK if she'd sent Hermione back to school, so that would be reason enough to make her drop out. XD
