On the plus side, my other favorite character, other than Lupin and Tonks--McGonagall--lived. To be, no doubt, the Headmistress of Hogwarts. On the other hand, we barely saw her at all. On the other other hand, when we did see her, she kicked enourmous amounts of death eater ass.
I hoped L&T would play a larger part in Voldie's defeat as well; however, I believe, considering the way they both haunted Harry (along with Fred--oh, God, I loved Fred, too) I thought they actually did play a large part--because it was those three deaths that gave Harry the oomph he needed to win, I think. Y'know, living for his friends and all. Because after he thought about seeing them dead, and talked to his parents and Sirius and Lupin, he was like "I've GOT to go on, dammit!"
