Seriously. WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WORLD.

"File-sharers, beware: By July 12, major US Internet service providers (ISPs) will voluntarily begin serving as copyright police for the entertainment industry, according to Cary Sherman, chief executive of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The so-called “six-strikes” plan is said to be one of the most effective anti-piracy efforts ever established in the US."

The article goes on to give details. After six notices, internet providers will decide to throttle a person's internet speed, or cut it off altogether. I don't know if they will crack down on torrents only, or if it is up to the internet provider. I get the sense it is up to the internet provider. So some people could get away with downloading non torrents, while others might get their internet service cut off. I urge you to click it and read, as we all know people who download.

No more downloading eps of your favorite shows for vidding, gifs, or fanfiction art. No more downloading screencaps possibly. I'm so sorry my friends. I don't even know if BT Guard will work to protect you, but I would google it if I were you. It is a professional service that supposedly can protect you from the invasive eyes of your internet provider.

Just, my friends, please make each other aware. Please be aware of the date JULY 12TH. Mark your calendar and double check with your internet provider by then. If you start receiving notices of downloaded activity, this is why. And your internet service could be throttled or cut off.

Changed my layout a couple days ago. We have moved from MirrorMask to Delacroix and Hugo. xD It's also, IMO, easier to read. And easier to decipher my flist to boot. xD

Um. Not much going on. I've been really lonely and down recently, and then realized that I've been forgetting to take my meds. So hopefully remembering those will help me feel a bit better. Gymnast is coming over tonight too, so that will be fun. I can't wait until she gets here.

was thinking about that, actually, my names for my friends. MBF and HLBF (MormonBestFriend and HorseLoverBestFriend), haven't changed, thank God. But DrumMajor is no longer a drum major and Gymnast no longer a gymnast. gothsocks changed her name so many times that I just eventually stopped, because it was confusing. xD And then I realized I haven't really talked of my friends a lot recently. I blame Costa Rica, I was kind of out of the picture.

BUT THE NEWS OF THE DAY

Today, at 8:30 this morning, the Iowa Supreme Court unanimously voted to

LEGALIZE GAY MARRIAGE!!!!!!!!

I'm SO HAPPY!!! Guys, it's awesome! It goes into effect in 3 weeks and IA will be only the fourth state in the country to do it, after Massachusetts and California (and they struck it down fuck you prop 8) and Connecticut, and it's IOWA. MY state! I'm so happy!!!!! My little, hickish, 3 million people, farming, mixed-up-with-Idaho-and-Ohio-all-the-time state. WE DID IT!!!! :DDDDDD

If there's any external event that could pull me from depression, for at least a while, this is it. There are not words for how happy I am. :D

This is the most wonderful thing ever.

Easter

nebulia: (girl from cirque du soleil's O)
So this morning I was in church at 6:30, because I worked in the nursery for the 8:30 and 10:30 services.

Church rarely moves me. Christmas Eve and Good Friday are about the only services that really pull a lot of emotion from me. But today we were singing "This is the feast of vicotry for our God"--a song we sing ALL THE TIME (probably every other week)--and I was suddenly moved to tears. I just welled up and wham! By the time the song was over I was back to normal, but it was so odd. How did that one moment move me? Was it God or am I just nuts or was I subconsciously thinking of something that, for some reason, combined with the song made me cry?

I dunno. It was odd.

Meanwhile, I was reading my Muse magazine and there was an article about North Korea in it, or specifically about Guy Delisle, who visited North Korea. Here it says: "Delisle didn't notice any handicapped people. When he asked his guide about this, his guide said, 'There are none...we're a very homogenous nation. All North Koreans are born strong, intelligent, and healthy."

Obviously, not true. what about those kids with genetice disorders? Down's? Cerebral Palsy? Muscular Dystrophy? Someone who falls off a building and is paralyzed from the waist down? I want to say they're imprisoned or killed, which is scary. That's not supposed to happen in real life. Just in 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.

*shudder*

Still cold. Supposed to snow Tuesday and Wednesday.

APRIL.
